The Congress

What? International choir meeting of children‘s and youth choirs, girls‘ and boys‘ choirs. Under the motto “Cantate Domino – vielstimmig für den Frieden – #comeandsing”, 4,500 children and young people sing, pray and celebrate together and invite you to join them.

The children and young people meet in Munich for the 45th International Choir Festival of Pueri Cantores. They come together from all countries and continents to sing together, pray for peace, celebrate their faith and meet each other. The young singers experience the great and unifying power of music when they meet each other in concerts, church services, prayers for peace, singing in social institutions, sharing meals, playing and having fun, and bringing the sounds and music to the people of the city of Munich and Bavaria.

Pueri Cantores

Who? Pueri Cantors are singers who proclaim and sing for peace.

The federation of Catholic children's and youth choirs “Pueri Cantores” has its origins in the peace movement after the end of the Second World War, which began in France. While in the beginning the boys' choirs of the larger cathedrals joined together to form a federation, children's and youth choirs, boys' and girls' choirs from all countries are now organized at diocesan, national and international level. The community of all “Pueri” is particularly expressed in the regular congresses and choir festivals, for example every five years over New Year's Eve in Rome.
